Elliotte Friedman Reveals What the Leafs Told Nick Robertson
The Maple Leafs have built themselves great depth in the organization, to the point where two of their youngest potential stars can't find a spot in the lineup, but for one of them, it's seemingly only a matter of time.
A talented young prospect
One of those name's is Nick Robertson, who has been on the radar of Leafs fans for years now, but after so many injuries, he hasn't been able to put together a full season at the professional level yet.
However, he's off to a great start for the Marlies in the AHL this year, tallying 3 goals and 3 assists already, and now, NHL Insider Elliotte Friedman has revealed what the team told him about his status on their big club.
Motivation
According to Friedman, Robertson, despite rumours that he would ask for a trade soon, remains a big part of Toronto's plans, but they've given him some motivation to nab a spot on this NHL team.
It's safe to say that his point per game start to the AHL season is a good start, but it may be a while until the Leafs have an injury to their forward group or consider demoting someone due to struggles, so if Robertson wants his spot, he's going to have to continue playing at this level.
