The Maple Leafs announced today that they'd hired Brad Treliving as their next GM, replacing the recently departed Kyle Dubas.
Brad Treliving is coming off of a long tenure in Calgary, but fans are making connections to Treliving elsewhere.
Brad Treliving's father, Jim Treliving, is a businessman who starred on the CBC show "Dragon's Den" from 2006 through 2021. For those unfamiliar with Dragon's Den, it's akin to the American show "Shark Tank".
On the show, Treliving invested in a number of successful businesses, but that's not where his greatest victory lies.
Jim Treliving Owns Boston Pizza
Jim Treliving is the owner of the chain pizza restaurant, Boston Pizza, which has over 380 different locations, including multiple in Toronto.
While it's unlikely that Jim's status as a Canadian businessman had anything to do with Brad being offered the role of GM, it's an interesting connection to note. Do you think that there's some nepotism at play here? Let us know!
