Maple Leafs head coach Craig Berube offered an update regarding star forward Matthew Knies after suffering an apparent injury during Game 6.

Fortunately for the Maple Leafs, they came out of Florida with a 2-0 win backed by strong performances from everyone involved, including a goal from Auston Matthews, and a resurgent Bobby McMann helping give some insurance on a Max Pacioretty goal.
It was a great night overall but unfortunately for the Maple Leafs, they saw one of their top players go down as Matthew Knies was injured after receiving a reverse hit from Florida's Niko Mikkola.

Craig Berube Admits Matthew Knies Needs Second Look

Knies was in pain afterward on the bench, and post-game his status still remained unclear after Bobby McMann replaced him on the top line. For Craig Berube, he admitted he needed an evaluation before making a decision.
Knies grimacing on the bench wasn't good, and if you could read his lips, actually told the trainer that whatever was bothering him was so bad he couldn't move it.
At first glance it looks like Mikkola crunched Knies' wrist after backing into him, though it could have also been his shoulder.
We don't know for sure, and while we won't have an update until at least Saturday afternoon, or potentially Sunday at practice as we see if Knies takes the ice or not.
All we can be thankful for is that not only did Auston Matthews and Mitch Marner show up when needed, but Joseph Woll rebounded right back after a dismal showing to stymie the Panthers and keep his reputation for being clutch intact.
He's been a bright spot this season for Toronto not only in the regular season, but has had a very solid postseason thus far.
In 11 games, Knies has 7 points (5G, 2A) and has been a constant spark with both his offense and his physicality, adding 30 hits in that span as well.
