Auston Matthews echoed Mitch Marner's statement ahead of Toronto's Game 4 clash with Ottawa, and is making sure the team is focused and prepared for anything.

Game 3 for the Maple Leafs was more of the same from Game 2; an OT win thanks to an unsuspecting hero. It set Toronto up nicely with a 3-0 series lead heading into a Game 4 with a potential sweep at hand, but don't expect the Senators to go down easy by any means.
Mitch Marner already told his team not to get too complacent because they're in a good spot, and is trying to keep the same focus and preparation regardless of if it's Game 1, Game 4 or a crucial Game 7.
So now it's the captain's turn to give some advice.

Auston Matthews Implores Team To Keep Focus With Potential Sweep In Mind

Echoing his superstar teammate, Auston Matthews explained that his team needs to come out with the same fire as they have, and while it's exciting to be where they are; they still need to focus:
To be honest, it doesn't really mean anything.  The fourth game's the hardest one to win. We're gonna enjoy this one and then tomorrow, we're gonna rest up, do what we need to do to get prepared for the fourth game.

Just continue to put our best foot forward and stay focused, stay dialled in. Like I said, the fourth one's the hardest one to win. Can't take our foot off the gas.

They're gonna be ready to play, they're gonna be a desperate team on Saturday, and we need to be ready with a response.

At least Matthews is aware of the stench of desperation that surrounds the Senators team. Ottawa needed to resort to underhanded tactics like trying to shoot pucks at Anthony Stolarz before the game even starts, and have tried everything under the sun to try and deter the Maple Leafs.
It hasn't worked.
Toronto has outscored the Senators 12-6, have won two close games within the first five minutes of OT, and look more like a team that is trying to win a Stanley Cup than simply trying to win a playoff round.
All the Senators can do so far is try and keep pace, but they haven't run into this type of Maple Leafs team, not even in the regular season. It's going to be a swift exit for Ottawa if they can't get things figured out fast.
But it's Matthews and company's job to make sure they don't figure anything out, and by the looks of the series so far; it's going to be fairly easy all things considered.
Though they can't count their chickens before they hatch.
