The Toronto Maple Leafs have had an up-and-down season between the pipes, seeing their expected starter in Ilya Samsonov hit a low and get sent down to the minors for a week. Just after that, Joseph Woll went down with an injury that has kept him from playing. Martin Jones, the Leafs' third netminder who started the year in the minors, has since stepped up to keep the Leafs' season alive.
Now, the Leafs are seeing some signs of returning to their normal goaltending duo, as Joseph Woll returned to full practice today for the first time since suffering his injury.
This is major news for Leaf fans, who still don't have full faith in Samsonov yet. While Woll is still a little ways out from returning to gameplay, this is a positive move in the right direction for the young netminder.
