The Toronto Maple Leafs added Brandon Carlo at the trade deadline, and while he's still getting accustomed to the team, he's found one teammate very endearing.

When the Maple Leafs added Brandon Carlo to the team at the trade deadline, it was seen as a shrewd move by GM Brad Treliving as he needed to shore up his defense in a big way, even though it cost him prospect Fraser Minten.
He hasn't had a lot of time to get used to things before being thrust into in game action, but he seems like a very solid fit once he gets settled; which is perfect for a team who needs their best defense possible come playoff time, but it's something off the ice that has piqued his interest.

Brandon Carlo Surprised By Warm Welcome

Having new teammates is hard, especially when one team is all you've ever known, but Carlo has found one teammate who's welcomed him with wide open arms, and it's someone you wouldn't expect:
(Max) Domi has been f---ing awesome ... he's a guy that I would be slashing on the ice and whatnot during the playoffs, but he's been super nice, same with everybody else.
Carlo and Domi are no strangers to each other, so while it's not unusual they are familiar with each other, the fact that once bitter enemies can become such solid teammates shows the true camaraderie of hockey; at the end of the day you want to win, and regardless of the past, the focus is now looking forward.
Not to say that everyone else hasn't been great, they, most assuredly have. But for Domi, who has been struggling this season with his own personal stats and production, to come out and be so welcoming when he very well could have been reserved and apathetic to Carlo's arrival.
Domi had a heck of a game against Florida on Thursday as well, not only getting into a heated scrap after laying in a crushing body check, but managed to snap a gorgeous shot past Sergei Bobrovsky.
This season, Domi hasn't lived up to his $5M contract, with only 26 points in 57 games. However, if he can play like he did against the Panthers, that will bode well for the Maple Leafs come playoff time, especially if he can consistently put shots on (and puck in) the net.
Carlo has had to take some time to settle in with Toronto, but has nine points in 66 games with time spent between Boston and Toronto.
It's a great sign to see bygones be bygones with Domi and Carlo, as both men are firmly set on working together to bring the Stanley Cup back to Toronto.
