A blockbuster proposal regarding Morgan Rielly and Erik Karlsson excited analyst Jay Rosehill, and it seems like he wouldn't need to think twice about saying yes.

Over the last few weeks there have been some talks regarding Morgan Rielly and whether or not he is going to be sticking around as a Maple Leaf or if there's a potential trade that might be in the works.
However, it's the time speculation and fans are seemingly getting in the mix and giving some potential blockbuster deals and hot takes regarding what they would do if they were Brad Treliving

Former NHLer Gives His Take on Leafs-Karlsson Proposal

One fan had a proposal for Leafs Morning Take on Tuesday involving Rielly, and co-host Jay Rosehill was all over it.
When asked if he would accept a Morgan Rielly/Nick Robertson for Erik Karlsson deal, it didn't take long for the former Leaf to give a response:
I take that all day. We're trying to get rid of Nick Robertson in general, where does he fit? Whose spot is he taking? I just don't think he's going to be here, and Morgan Rielly has stalled.

Makes $7.5-million, doesn't produce like he used to; sometimes has some brain-dead stuff going on in the D-zone. Not trying to knock him but he's not the player he used to be in the past.

To get the upside of Erik Karlsson, and someone who can quarterback a PP and run the offense like Karlsson has done in the past, all his accomplishments he would be great, but I don't think anyone is really going to take that trade.

Leafs Still Searching for a Power Play Quarterback

It's not too surprising to hear Rosehill be all for the deal, as there's no real comparison between Karlsson and Rielly. The former is a three-time Norris Trophy winner, an offensive superstar, a surefire Hall of Famer, and someone who puts up elite numbers even in his twilight.
Plus, if you just look at their power play numbers they speak for themselves:
Rielly - 173 Points (15 goals, 158 assists)
Karlsson - 305 points (44 goals, 261 assists)
Having triple the amount of goals, and nearly 100 more assists shows that Karlsson is unlike any other when it comes to the power play. His elite vision, incredible tape-to-tape passes and positioning make him one of the best ever.
If Toronto truly wanted to change the DNA of the team and make a real difference, then you have to pursue Karlsson with relentless intent; he might be the key to winning more than one round some playoff time.
Karlsson Would Add Star Power Toronto Can't Ignore
It would turn into the Erik Karlsson Hour if he were to come aboard, and while he torched the Leafs for years as a member of the Senators, it's all water under the bridge if he's in blue and white.
It would also truly give them an elite defenseman, and for all Rielly has done in his time with Toronto is more likely a 3/4 defender at this time in his career, meanwhile Karlsson has stayed steady throughout.
Plus, Karlsson has 53 points in 67 playoff games and could easily be the X-Factor for the Maple Leafs come April.
It's going to take more than Nick Robertson and Morgan Rielly to bring in Erik Karlsson, but like Rosehill, if the team has a chance to they should go all-in.
They may have won themselves a real jackpot.
