William Nylander Publically Provides Update On Where Things Stand
On the first day of training camp, William Nylander opened up to the media on his contract status.
Nylander Reiterates That He Wants To Stay in Toronto
During his media scrum on the first day of training camp, Nylander reiterated a number of times that he likes Toronto and wants to stay here, and also stated that he didn't want to discuss the contract negotiations anymore after this.
Facing reporters on the opening day of #leafs training camp, William Nylander reiterated his desire to stay in Toronto long term and politely said he won't be fielding any more questions on his contract status.
William Nylander makes it clear many times that he wants to stay in Toronto.
This comes after speculation the entire offseason of what was in store for Nylander's future, and whether or not an extension would be signed prior to the start of the season.
Treliving Indicates that Nylander Deal is a Priority and Wants to Extend Him
One of the major questions coming into this year was whether or not new GM Brad Treliving would be able to foster a good relationship and sign extensions for Toronto's key guys in Matthews and Nylander. He was successful with Matthews, and it appears he is also developing a nice relationship with Nylander as well and will prioritize getting an extension done for him.

Nylander is beloved by fans and the media for his happy-go-lucky attitude, and for his keen ability to handle the spotlight with ease. Teammates are also loving of Nylander, and have hopes to see him stay in Toronto.
