As part of the Toronto Maple Leafs' four-game road trip across the Southern United States and New York, Ryan O'Reilly joined the team in Florida. Despite the team taking a day off in Raleigh, North Carolina on Friday, O'Reilly took the ice for practice. Later, he participated in part of the team's morning skate ahead of their game against the Carolina Hurricanes. O'Reilly had been sidelined due to a broken finger sustained on Mar. 4, when he was accidentally hit by a shot from teammate
Auston Matthews. Coach Keefe had originally projected a four-week recovery timeline, which would see O'Reilly returning in early April.
