Giordano Speaks On Leafs Slump
Toronto Maple Leafs veteran Mark Giordano discussed the state of the team
to reporters after the Leafs snapped their four-game winless streak in a 4-3 win against the Calgary Flames.
Currently the oldest player in the league, the longtime NHL defenseman is no stranger to tough slides and losing games, so it's little surprise he's not too worried about Toronto's current predicament.
Giordano told reporters that, while acknowledging the loss, said his focus is on winning and not lingering on the difficulties for Toronto in recent games.
«We're in that mindset now where you have to do whatever it takes to get that win."......«You get on these slides and things sort of pile up. Whatever the scenario, we have to play in that moment to win the game.»
Giordano said that while the Leafs had "little lapses here and there", that he felt Toronto maintained competitiveness throughout the slump. Toronto's 4 losses were all within 2 goals.
Giordano currently has a goal and 6 points in 30 games for Toronto this season. The Leafs currently sit third in the Atlantic Division with a 22-13-8 record, 5-4-1 in their last 10 games.
