Leafs fans were likely reminded of the Nick Foligno trade, when the recently acquired forward Ryan O'Reilly suffered a serious injury. Thankfully, it appears that this will not be a repeat of the Foligno trade incident.

On Monday, Sheldon Keefe, the head coach for the Leafs, provided an update about his injured forward. Luckily, this update was a positive one, Keefe stated that he expects O'Reilly to return to the ice very soon. This does not mean that O'Reilly is cleared to play, but returning to the ice is a good sign.

"He has not skated yet, but it's imminent," revealed Keefe as per Leafs reporter Terry Koshan. "He has been in every day and doing what he needs to do to get ready. I was told he was expected on skates this week."

O'Reilly was doing well with the Leafs, he did better than he did this season than he did with St. Louis. While he only averaged .475 points per game with St. Louis, his 3 goals and 2 assists in his 8 games as a Leaf amount to .625 points per game.

Hopefully O'Reilly will be cleared to play soon so that he can continue improving!
