This season, when the Maple Leafs win a game, usually, it's because either Mitch Marner, Auston Matthews or William Nylander take things in charge and lead the team to victory.

However, as we saw many times since the season started, if the top three's having a rough night, the Leafs lose.

A concerning trend is currently going around on social media about the production of the other players in the team.

John Tavares and Max Domi have only two points each in their last 10 games, Tyler Bertuzzi has four, whereas Matthew Knies has four in his last 17 games, and Calle Jarknrok tallied three in 19 games.

"leafs supporting cast:

tavares: 2 points in his last 10
bertuzzi: 4 points in his last 10
domi: 2 points in his last 10
jarnkrok: 3 points in his last 19
knies: 4 points in his last 17
kampf: 1 point in his last 18
gregor: 2 points in his last 16

can't just be the big 3 🤷‍♂️"

A new report suggested that the real reason behind those problems works behind the team's bench.

A Coaching Problem in Toronto?

Currently third in the Atlantic Division, with the Detroit Red Wings and Tampa Bay Lightning who'll try to make a push for the playoffs, Sheldon Keefe and the Leafs' coaching staff must absolutely find a way to get more out of players.

Every player in the team must contribute in order to be successfull in the NHL. It's not healthy to rely only on three players to score most of the goals. They simply can't afford to lose games every time that Matthews, Marner or Nylander doesn't produce.

It's up to Keefe to find the right strategies to make sure that Matthews, Marner or Nylander don't get up against the opponent's best defensive unit every shift and exploit the other team's weaknesses.

As seen on Maple Leafs Daily - There's a concerning trend forming in Toronto behind Matthews, Marner and Nylander
