The Toronto Maple Leafs have not quite lived up to expectations this year. However, general manager Brad Treliving could be ready to go all in at the trade deadline.

Maple Leafs Secure Key Victory Against The Winnipeg Jets

The Leafs are coming off a key victory against the Winnipeg Jets last night. The team secured the victory in overtime when Auston Matthews netted the game winner on a deflection in front of the net.

The win improved the team's record to 24-14-8 and helped solidify the Leaf's hold on 3rd place in the Atlantic division.

Maple Leafs Considering Major Trade With Montreal Canadiens?

Following the win, the Leafs have made indications that they may be looking to make a trade soon. Notably, the team had a scout present at the Canadiens game tonight. This could be an indication that the team is considering a trade with someone on the Canadiens. However, the Leafs were not the only team with scouts present at the game. In fact, it was a rather popular destination for scouts tonight.

The Leafs have been involved in many trade rumors this season, including recent rumors that suggest they were close to finalizing a deal to acquire Wild goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury.

With the team missing out on Fleury in addition to previous trade targets like Nikita Zadorov, there could be a greater emphasis on getting a deal done soon. That being said though, many fans don't think this year's team is good enough to bet on. Whether or not the team's management agrees is yet to be seen.
