Nothing's Working for Keefe in Toronto Anymore

The two people who must take most of the blame for the Leafs' disappointing performances are Ilya Samsonov and Sheldon Keefe.

The goalie's not even been playing good enough for the AHL since the season started, and Keefe hasn't find any solution to bring his team back on track.

However, Brad Treliving hasn't really helped either. Many fans called him out because he didn't do anything to help his team despite major injuries.

After the Leafs' loss against the Blue Jackets, even Keefe called him out.

But after another tough loss, last night, to the Carolina Hurricanes, could Sheldon Keefe be the one to pay?

The head coach signed an extension during the summer and despite all the talent available on the roster, hasn't been able to find a lineup that plays with consistency. He also made questionnable decisions during games that foces fans to believe a coaching change should come.

While the top contender to replace him (Guy Boucher) already works for the Leafs, an analyst shared another candidate for the job.

New Candidate To Replace Sheldon Keefe

If, or when, Treliving decides to fire Keefe, Guy Boucher would certainly be a great replacement. Already assistant coach of the Leafs, he has an advantage on other candidates.

However, according to our colleagues at Maple Leafs Insider, Craig Berube could receive a call from the Leafs.

Not only is he available, he recently won a Stanley Cup in St. Louis, back in 2019. He completely turned the team around.

Berube was fired earlier this season, after missing the playoffs last year and a poor start this year.

In 382 games behind the Blues' bench, his impressive record of 206-132-44 makes him an interesting choice to replace Keefe.

After four years of Keefe's tenure, his message doesn't work anymore. A change must happen to get the best out of the players.

Do you think Keefe will be fired?

As seen on Maple Leafs Insider - If the Leafs want to move on from Sheldon Keefe, there's a pretty solid replacement available
