This offseason has been quite busy for Maple Leafs GM Brad Treliving with him making a couple of fantastic signings. The Leafs have brought in Tyler Bertuzzi, Max Domi, Ryan Reaves, and John Klingberg all through free agency and each brings something the Leafs need.
In addition to this, Treliving is currently working out their goalie situation and is working on extending William Nylander and Auston Matthews.
With all of the big names being thrown around, many are forgetting the more lowkey players who could provide massive value for the Maple Leafs. One of these is Pius Suter who many are surprised has gone unsigned thus far.
Suter would be the perfect third-line player for the Maple Leafs. He is quite solid defensively often playing on the penalty kill but can also offer some top-notch offense.
He is entering his fourth season in the NHL after electing to spend the first bit of his career in the Swiss NL. Suter previously played with Leafs superstar Auston Matthews with the ZSC Lions in 2015-16.
Since coming to the NHL, he has been a solid middle-six forward and has scored 14 goals or more in every single season.
If Brad Treliving could sign him for under $1.5 million, the Leafs have a perfect third line player who could slot into the top six if need be.
