New Toronto Maple Leafs trade target is revealed
Brad Treliving Looking at Trade Options to Help His Blue Line
The Maple Leafs have a lot of options on their table ahead of the trade deadline. With cap space, prospects, and valuable players as possible trade assets, general manager Brad Treliving could make a splash in the NHL.
While there's been a lot of talk about Chris Tanev, Ilya Lyubushkin, and Noah Hanifin, it looks like another candidate would be a great fit in Toronto.
New Trade Candidate Emerges for the Maple Leafs
In dire need of defensemen, the Leafs will look to add at least one or two players to their roster to help their chances of a deep playoff run.
"I still really like Will Borgen as a trade target. Sound defensively, can move the puck pretty well and isn't afraid to hit/get hit from what I've seen. Timmins + a 3rd/4th may be able to get it done and prevent us from trading away our 1st and still get a player with term."
Borgen, currently going through the last year of his two-year, $2,750,000 AAV contract, is doing a great job with the Seattle Kraken this season. In addition to scoring 12 points in 34 games, the defenseman plays a physical game, doesn't have a big salary, and wouldn't cost too much to acquire.
