NHL Turns a Blind Eye to Blatant Referee Bias in Toronto
The professional hockey world is not a big one, in the scheme of the world. Lots of small-world connections, and that is no different for Sheldon Keefe.
***SA Trigger warning***
A former junior hockey coach, named David Frost was accused of sexually assaulting many underage hockey players, including a man named Mike Danton. It took a wild turn after Frost had been acquitted of the charges laid against him when Danton was then arrested for the conspiracy of plotting to murder David Frost.
Now you may be wondering about the connection here. Danton and Sheldon Keefe were teammates when much of the alleged abuse was taking place. The coach at the time happened to be David Frost. Sheldon Keefe was the one to stand and testify against Frost during Danton's trial.
Relating back to Wes McCauley, one of the officials that officiated game 1, he and Frost are in fact, brothers-in-law.
Thinking back to when Keefe was fined for shouting at McCauley...... this may all make sense now!
There is a clear conflict of interest here that the NHL has turned a blind eye towards.
