Michael Bunting to Face Suspension Hearing For Illegal Hit

On Tuesday, the Toronto Maple Leafs and Tampa Bay Lightning faced off in a first-round rematch, renewing their rivalry from last season when the Lightning eliminated the Leafs in seven games. Despite the Leafs' determination not to let that happen again, the Lightning dominated the game and won 7-3.

During the third period, Michael Bunting from the Leafs delivered a dangerous hit to the head of Erik Cernak from the Lightning, resulting in a five-minute major and game misconduct penalty for Bunting.

The NHL Department of Player Safety announced that Bunting will have a hearing with the League on Wednesday to discuss potential suspension.
