Michael Bunting is a very polarizing character, and depending on who you ask, you'll get a flurry of different opinions on the player. However, he may need to find a new home soon, as this NHL insider is predicting that Bunting's time in Toronto is over just as quickly as it started.
Bunting is well known throughout the league for his dominant rookie season as a late bloomer, as well as his gritty, in-your-face brand of hockey that so many opposing fans hate. As much as he might be a treat for Leafs fans to watch, his time in Toronto may be over sooner than thought.
According to James Mirtle of the Athletic, Bunting may need to find a new city to play his signature style of hockey this summer. Bunting seems to have been a source of frustration for Sheldon Keefe, and is apparently "uncoachable".
Bunting is prone to taking bad penalties, he oftentimes argues with officials over obvious calls, and has been caught "diving" on multiple occasions. Should General Manager Kyle Dubas see a different option via trade or on the free agent market this summer, Bunting could very well be replaced.
