While we saw a new take on the All-Star Skills Competition last night, the classic accuracy shooting challenge, where players have to hit four targets as fast as possible, always gets a lot of attention.

A controversial decision by the NHL during this challenge is causing a major stir on social media today.

Indeed, Connor McDavid won this event, hitting all targets in nine seconds.

Check out his great performance here:

Auston Matthews ended 2nd in this challenge with his performance:

Some fans pointed out that Matthews hit the last target before the nine-second mark.

"Matthews got snubbed in the accuracy shooting competition.

He finished at 8.9 seconds."

It looks clear that Matthews could've won that event.

Nonetheless, we never get tired of that challenge. Players always bring it all out for this and make it exciting to watch.

It's too bad that Matthews didn't win in front of his fans, but he can redeem himself tonight in the All-Star Game. We can't wait to see what he brings to the game.
