In a prospect pool full of talent like Matthew Knies and Easton Cowan as well as Nick Robertson Nikita Grebyonkin is starting to make a name for himself.

The 5th-round pick was at one time considered a long shot to be an NHL player. Now he is generating a ton of hype for his potential signing in North America.

Last season was the beginning of the rise of Grebyonkin when he was able to score 26 points in 45 KHL games. This is an impressive feat for an at the time 19-year-old.

Now Grebyonkin is on pace for 40 points by the end of the KHL season. If this production continues the Maple Leafs will likely look to bring him to North America sooner rather than later.
