It was announced this morning: Patrick Kane is making a comeback in the NHL.

He signed a deal with the Detroit Red Wings.

Many Leafs fans wanted to see him in Toronto, but now that Kane is not available anymore, an even better option has come up for Brad Treliving.

Even with Kane off the market, there are still great free agents available that could help the Maple Leafs.

Among them, Zach Parise.

It looks like the forward wants to join a top team and doesn't mind signing for less money, especially considering he's still getting paid by the Wild after they bought out his contrat.

"Zach Parise had 21 goals last season. He's got to be waiting for a true contender because if he wanted, he could have signed anywhere for 1.5 plus"

Parise, 39, scored 879 points in 1224 NHL games. Having one last shot at winning the Stanley Cup could entice him to sign a contract.

He could add considerable depth to the Leafs' lineup, helping the team have a deep playoff run.
