The NHL is just days away from training camp. This means that many teams are starting to announce their camp rosters. For the Toronto Maple Leafs, this includes a massive addition to the forward group.
Toronto Maple Leafs Announce Training Camp Roster
Today as part of their preparation for the upcoming season the Toronto Maple Leafs announced their training camp roster.
The roster is mostly as you would expect filled with main roster staples and top prospects. There are a few interesting additions though that have had some people intrigued. Of the 31 forwards on the roster, one massive player was the most interesting to some fans and media.
Maple Leafs Add Six Foot Eight Winger To Their Training Camp Roster
With the announcement of the Toronto Maple Leafs training camp roster, many fans were intrigued by one name in particular. That name was Keenan Suthers. Suthers is a six foot eight left winger who is in the Maple Leafs prospect system. Now he will be attending training camp according to Kyle Cushman.
Cushman this summer did a highlight of Suthers on X. Suthers played in the ECHL this past season and had 40 points in 56 games. The 25-year-old has been steadily improving over time.
Listed at 6-foot-8 and 245 pounds, he tallied 18 goals and 40 points in 56 ECHL games as a rookie, plus 7 goals and 13 points in 16 playoff games. Here are his goals and notable assists from 2022-23.
Suthers had previously been at the Vegas Golden Knights prospect camp in previous years. He has also apparently grown several inches since that time.

With training camp kicking off it will be interesting to see if Suthers can make a run at a roster spot or if he is destined to end up back in the minors for another season.
