William Nylander is clearly one of the Leafs' best contributors this season, with 46 points on the year already in just 32 games. He is playing so well that it is creating an even bigger discussion about how the Leafs can manage to sign him to a potential deal.
Nylander has been adamant that he would like to stay in Toronto, however, it all depends on how big of a contract the Leafs can afford to offer him. NHL insider David Pagnotta had the following insight to give on the status of contract talks between Nylander and the Leafs.
The Toronto Maple Leafs are considering adding another $10 million dollar player to their roster, to go along with Mitch Marner, Auston Matthews, and John Tavares. However, many are arguing that Nylander is worth it, considering his production not only in the regular season but also in the playoffs.
The question remains as to whether or not the Leafs will be able to fit Nylander into their future plans, however, it appears that question will be answered soon.
