The Maple Leafs loss last night was emotional in many respects, but perhaps none more so than Joe Bowen's potential goodbye. The longtime Leafs broadcaster was in the booth for game 5, and had some emotional comments following the conclusion of the game.
Bowen Brings Tears to the Eyes of Leafs Nation
As the Leafs shook hands with the Panthers, Joe Bowen delivered what was potentially his last ever goodbye to hockey fans from the press box.
«Well, partner 41 years of doing this, 3,550 games and if this is the end of the line, been a hell of a run for us. I've enjoyed every moment of it. Hopefully we'll be back next year but we're not sure about yet. But to you and to everybody associated going forward with this has been really very, very special I'm a little choked up, I'm sorry.»

It truly was a sad moment for Leafs fans, many of whom have likely grown up listening to the voice of Bowen calling their favorite games.
Bowen, who is 72, has been a commentator since the 1980's. If he does indeed call it a career, it's been a hell of a ride for the veteran broadcaster.
Thank you Joe!
