Kyle Dubas Releases Statement Following the Passing of Rodin Amirov
In tragic news, Rodin Amirov passed away today after his battle with a brain tumour.

After the announcement of his passing made by the Leafs, many players around the league have shared their thoughts and prayers. Kyle Dubas and the Pittsburgh Penguins released the following statement via Twitter today.
The Pittsburgh Penguins join the Toronto Maple Leafs and the entire hockey community in mourning the loss of Rodion Amirov.
Our thoughts and whole heart are with his parents and family. Their optimism and amazing outlook on life throughout Rodion's battle were unwavering and incredible.
Personally, I am so sad for the loss of such a wonderful young man with so much potential. His unabashed positivity - even when faced with an awful diagnosis - will stay with me forever. Rodion was such an example fo courage and I am certain that his spirit will live on in everyone lucky enough to have known him. - Kyle Dubas
Amirov's Legacy
Amirov was drafted by Dubas in the first round of the 2020 NHL draft. He signed a three-year entry-level contract with Toronto in April 2021. He missed the entire 2022-23 season due to his diagnosis.
