In the latest episode of 32 Thoughts: The Podcast, insider Elliotte Friedman confirmed that the Leafs have conducted in-person interviews with former Calgary Flames GM Brad Treliving, held a Zoom meeting with former Montreal Canadiens GM Marc Bergevin, engaged in discussions with former San Jose Sharks GM Doug Wilson, and there is speculation about an unknown individual who also had an in-person interview, though their identity remains unconfirmed.
Friedman further mentioned that the mystery interviewee was unlikely to be Peter Chiarelli, Jason Botterill, or Mark Hunter, adding an element of intrigue to the selection process.
