Friedman Reveals Where the Maple Leafs Stand With William Nylander
William Nylander and Auston Matthews' contract extensions are this year's most important things on Brad Treliving's to-do list.
Half of the famous Core Four could be leaving the team if the new GM fails to reach a deal with them.
Both players are in a good position to ask for a lot of money.
Nylander's demands are rumored to be close to $9M and Matthews could very well become the highest paid player in the whole league, with an annual value approximated at $14M.
There's been a new development concerning Nylander's negotiations, thanks to Elliotte Friedman.
Friedman Reports New Development
According the Friedman, things arent' going well between Nylander and the Leafs. He reveals that Toronto wants to keep Nylander, but they aren't close to reach a deal.
As reported by Leafs Latest on Instagram:
"According to Elliotte Friedman he believes the Leafs want to keep F William Nylander but says they aren't close in terms of a contract extension."
It doesn't seem to be Nylander's style to accept a lower salary. He'll likely force the Leafs' hands or change team.
