Last night the Saskatoon Blades took on the Lethbridge Hurricanes and top Maple Leafs prospect Fraser Minten was looking to impress with his new team. Late in the second period, Minten was back defending a rush chance from the Hurricanes where he had a knee-on-knee hit with top 2024 prospect Miguel Marques.
Minten was assessed 5 minutes for kneeing, 5 minutes for fighting, and got a 10-minute game misconduct. Luckily, Marques was able to return to the game and received the first star of the game honors.
Despite Minten being ejected, the Blades wound up winning the game 3-1. It is unknown if Minten will face any more discipline from the WHL but there is a solid chance that he will wind up sitting a few games because of this play.
