The Toronto Maple Leafs may have been hit with the injury bug once again.

Forward Nick Abruzzese, one of the Leafs top prospects, was recalled from the Toronto Marlies. However, the club did not make a corresponding move. However, speculation suggests a Leaf may be out due to injury.

According to a tweet from CapFriendly, the Leafs may be putting Forward Bobby McMann on LTIR.

McMann, who has missed time with a knee injury, has been a surprise for the Leafs, playing well in the AHL for the Marlies, which led to 10 games with the big club. It's believed, according to CapFriendly, that McMann may be moved to Long-Term Injury Reserve, saving the team $762,000 in cap space to call up Abruzzese.

This season, Abruzzese has had 15 Goals and 44 Points in 65 Games for the Marlies, being a Top prospect for the Leafs with a shot at consistent minutes at the next level soon.

It has not yet been confirmed the status of the corresponding move, but it is yet another unfortunate injury for Toronto, but a chance to showcase an up-and-coming talent in Abruzzese, who will play tonight against the Red Wings.
