Elite goaltenders aren't often available on the trade market for a simple reason: teams tend to keep them when they get one. They often sign long-term contracts and play most of their career for the same team.

A new report stated that a vezina-caliber goalie could be available on the trade market.

Nashville Predators to Place Saros on the Market: The Price to Get Him Has Been Revealed

Juuse Saros has been among the most consistent goaltenders in the NHL these past few years. The Nashville Predators have been lucky to count on him for so long and now, it looks like they're ready to let him go... at the right price, of course.

Predators' general manager Barry Trotz could be tempted to trade him, given his high value.

In fact, what he's asking in return has been revealed.

Check it out:

" The Predators likely want two first-round picks, a top prospect and a fourth asset for Juuse Saros."

A Reaslisitc Option For Brad Treliving and the Maple Leafs ?

The Maple Leafs could go a long way with a goaltender like Saros. His availability on the market could change a lot of things in Brad Treliving's plan.

Instead of reaching out for defensemen on the market, aiming for Saros could be tempting.

Even if the Leafs already don't have a lot of first round picks, they could sacrifice two more to get someone like Saros.

The current goalie unit is problematic in Toronto. If either Samsonov or Murray ends up leaving before the deadline, Saros would be a fine candidate for the job. He would also be great in helping Joseph Woll develop into the Leafs' future number one goalie.

Many teams could make a push for Saros, but we hope that the Leafs are among them.
