BREAKING: Sheldon Keefe Makes A Shocking Decision For The Maple Leafs
Toronto Maple Leafs head coach Sheldon Keefe has made a shocking decision about who will be getting the start in net tonight.
Keefe Decides To Start Jones For The Second Game In A Row
Going into this season, Martin Jones was seen as the third-string goaltender for the Maple Leafs and would likely not get much NHL action all year. However, an injury to Joseph Woll has proven to have the silver lining of Jones getting a shot.
For the second consecutive game, Jones will be getting the start for the Leafs.
Martin Jones is the first goalie off the ice during the team's optional skate. Samsonov staying out here.
Jones is the projected starter against the Rangers tonight.
Jones is coming off a shutout against the Pittsburgh Penguins and has been quite impressive for the Leafs.
Through three games, Jones is undefeated posting a 1.85 GAA and a .949 sv%. If he can keep his numbers solid until Joseph Woll returns from injury, it may be the end of Ilya Samsonov's time as a Maple Leaf.
