The Maple Leafs had a crazy game tonight as they fell to the Blue Jackets in overtime after pulling off a historic 5-goal comeback in the third period. However, they did lose one of their forwards earlier in the game due to injury. Sheldon Keefe updated us on his status after the game.

Reaves 'Will Be Out Awhile' According To Head Coach Sheldon Keefe

In his post-game media availability, Sheldon Keefe confirmed the worst for Reaves as he noted that the 36-year-old forward will miss significant time with the injury. He also noted that the team is still waiting on a more specific diagnosis before they can give a more accurate timeline.

Keefe says Reaves «will be out for a while.» Awaiting further diagnosis.

This is the play where Reaves injured himself. He appeared to catch an edge at the worst possible time as he stumbled into the boards.

Making matters worse, he appeared to fall immediately after getting off the ice as he was heading down the tunnel towards the locker room with the help of Leafs medical staff.

Now the team will be without the enforcer for a significant amount of time. The team has no real alternatives as an enforcer type player, so it will be interesting to see if they make a move following this news.
