The Toronto Maple Leafs have made some big additions this past summer, and now, after a recent injury scare, one of their key acquisitions has returned to the ice.
After dealing with injury issues for the past week, John Klingberg, who was seen skating with the Leafs top power play unit early in camp has now returned to the ice in a big boost as the regular season nears.
While he's unlikely to return to the lineup for Friday's pre-season game, this is a major boost for the regular season opener, as Klingberg is expected to play a major role for Toronto in 2023-24 on their second pairing.
The 31-year old had a down year in 2022-23 with Anaheim and Minnesota, tallying just 33 points after a monster season the year before, and if healthy, Toronto are expecting to get the Stars version of Klingberg, which could be a major difference maker on the blue line.
