For the past year, there has been a rumour surrounding Erik Karlsson and one of his former teammates, a rumour that he has now seemingly put to rest.
A former Sharks teammate

According to the rumour, Karlsson and Brent Burns are not on good terms after their time together in San Jose.
This rumour stems from their similar styles and how it limited both of them on the ice, and over a year after Burns was traded to Carolina, Karlsson has now opened up on the report.
No beef at all
Unsurprisingly, Karlsson shot it down immediately, saying both veteran blue liners are on good terms.
According to Max Miller, site editor of The Hockey News:
Karlsson denies any reports of a strained relationship with former Sharks teammate Brent Burns.
Says they are pretty good friends.

In their first year apart, Karlsson racked up 101 points and the Norris Trophy while Burns put up 61 points with the Hurricanes, so while they may be on good terms, it's safe to say on the ice, they're better off apart.
