The Erik Karlsson trade hasn't exactly turned out how Kyle Dubas intended. Coming off a 101-point season with the San Jose Sharks, the Penguins' management thought Karlsson would be able to lift the team back into the playoffs. Unfortunately, he didn't.

After parting ways with Jake Guentzel at the trade deadline, Kyle Dubas will surely consider making other major changes to the team. There's been a lot of rumors involving Sidney Crosby, but a new one suggests that Karlsson could be on the move this off-season.

Elliotte Friedman revealed on 32 Thoughts that it won't be easy to move him, but if the Pens really want to do it, the Ottawa Senators could make it work.

Considering that Karlsson has a no-trade clause, earns $11,500,000 a year, and is already 33 years old, it won't be easy to move him.

However, the Senators are expected to be very active this summer. If they don't go after their former captain, it'll be after others. But Karlsson back in Ottawa makes sense. With Daniel Alfredsson back with the team,

"Friedman on Erik Karlsson (32TP): "It's not going to be an easy one to move, it definitely isn't...I'll say this, there is going to be a lot of focus on Ottawa, if there's one team that you would think would consider it, it would be them with Daniel Alfredsson there"

Cont'd: "If it's not Ottawa, and don't forget, Karlsson has a lot of control here, it's hard to see where it makes sense. I think the Sens are going to be a really, really busy team in the offseason, I think they had a lot of conversations that will get punted into the summer"
