Rumors sparked today regarding Pens head coach Mike Sullivan, proposing that he could take over the Rangers head coaching job, most recently held by Gerard Gallant, who was fired by the Rangers shortly after a first round playoff exit. The move would come if Pittsburgh decided to hire Toronto GM Kyle Dubas as Ron Hextall's replacement, and brought head coach Sheldon Keefe with him.
NHL insider Frank Seravalli, however, shut down the rumors, believing that Sullivan will not be fired by Pittsburgh.
