New details have been released about a trade that could've taken place this regular season.
Monster Trade
It's not new information that the Penguins have been interested in trading for Vancouver's J.T. Miller since the 2022 free agency period. But new information about the return Vancouver wanted has been revealed.
Vancouver reportedly would've liked two first picks or a first round pick and a prospect in exchange for Miller, whose 7 year, $56M contract kicks in at the start of free agency on July 1.
There were also concerns regarding Penguins player Jason Zucker.
It's clear that the trade wasn't going to happen on account of former Pens GM Ron Hextall remaining unwilling to trade one of the team's first round picks.
Now that Hextall is out of the picture, is it possible the new GM revisits this trade proposal in the future?
