Kyle Dubas has made it apparently clear that he will be aggressive during his time in Pittsburgh. The young executive showed that last night by picking Brayden Yager 14th overall, and will likely continue that trend on the trade market.
Pens and Sharks Talking Trade
According to a recent report by trusted insider Frank Seravalli, the Penguins and Sharks may be working on a massive trade.
This prospective trade would see defenseman Jeff Petry go to San Jose in exchange for Sharks goaltender Kaapo Kähkönen. There would probably be more to this trade, but these pieces are likely going to be swapped.
Smart Business By Dubas
If/when this trade gets completed, Dubas will have offloaded an aging defenseman on a large contract, for a younger goalie who still has some runway to develop.
It's clear that Dubas wants to be aggressive on the market, and this trade would be perfect for that. Look for Dubas to make some big deals soon.
