Marc Methot Roasts Greedy NHLer
Marc Methot has never shied away from speaking his mind. He has now thrown a particular player under the bus for his ridiculous contract demands.
Marc Methot is best known as an Ottawa Senator, despite having played longer as a Columbus Blue Jacket. This has made him a source of Senators friction on social media since his retirement in 2018-19. Today, he put out one of his most controversial takes yet.
In response to a tweet talking about DeBrincat's measly 4 even-strength goals this year, Methot got absolutely brutal:
A player looking for anything north of 9 million dollars should be driving the line he's playing on. Let's stop pretending it's a linemate issue.
DeBrincat is on the record for expecting a $9+-million contract this summer, which the Senators might just do as they hope to retain their big trade acquisition from the 2022 draft.
Whether he deserves it or not will be determined over the next eight years!
