Alex DeBrincat requested a trade out of Ottawa weeks ago, but nothing has happened yet.

Pierre Dorion revealed that it's not because the offers from other teams aren't good enough, but rather because the contract negotiations are not going well. The GM even allowed DeBrincat to talk to other teams on "multiple occasions," but those discussions didn't yield any results.

Arbitration Hearing Incoming?

Jeff Jackson, DeBrincat's agent, shared that the Sens gave him permission to speak to three different teams. We know that at least the Ducks and the Islanders are interested.
Reportedly, DeBrincat is seeking an eight-year, $70.2M deal, which falls in the same range as Timo Meier's contract in New Jersey. This would give DeBrincat an average annual value (AAV) of around $8.775M, but the teams are closer to the $8M mark.
Last month, the Sens requested salary arbitration. DeBrincat accepted the $9M qualifying offer, which gives Dorion some flexibility. The lowest he can offer in arbitration is $7.65M. We'll know more in August when the arbitration hearings begin.
We finally have a number. DeBrincat's camp is looking for 8 years at $8.7mil per year. It's been reported that interested teams are willing to pay in the vicinity of Bratt's contract at $7.8 mil per. Pretty massive gap of roughly 8 million bucks over 8 years.

Islanders and Ducks are the only remaining interested teams.
