Patrick Roy made his long-awaited return to the NHL less than two months ago. A new report claims that his tenure could already be close to an end.

New York Islanders to Consider Making a Coach Change Only a Month After Hiring Patrick Roy?
The insider Stefen Rosner stated that the Islanders could make important changes within their organization. He thinks that Lamoriello could be replaced by Roy as general manager, who would hire Benoit Desrosiers as head coach.
In his own words:
"I do think at some point it will be Roy at GM and Benoit at Head Coach."

We saw it last season in Nashville. Barry Trotz, the renowned head coach, went from coaching to managing.
Roy could be doing the same thing in New York. Lamoriello, who's 81 years old, could be fired if the Isles don't make it to the playoffs, according to many. If he's not fired, he will surely contemplate retirement in the next few years.
If not this season, it could be in the Summer or in the coming years, but that scenario remains possible.
