After his performance over the last month with his new team, there's certainly a chance that Pierre Engvall could get a huge contract extension.
After being traded to the Islanders on February 28, Pierre Engvall got right down to business and started making an impact.
Engvall was traded from the Maple Leafs in exchange for a 2024 3rd round pick. He adds 5 goals and 4 assists to his 12 goals and 9 assists with the Leafs. During his time with the Leafs, Engvall scored 42 goals and 41 assists over the course of four seasons.
Since the addition of Engvall has proved successful, the New York Islanders could potentially offer him a contract extension during free agency this summer.
Engvall's current contract, that expires at the end of this season, is worth $2.5M.
