Now that Jeff Petry is back in Montreal, everyone's wondering what's going to happen to him. Rumors suggest he'll be traded soon by the Habs. Kent Hughes, Montreal's GM, hasn't even spoken with Petry since he acquired him. Also, things didn't end well the last time he was in Montreal.

Everything points to the fact that he'll be traded before the start of the next season, and he's been linked to a top team.

Petry Linked to Top Team

Chris Johnston, the reporter, has made an interesting link between Petry and the Dallas Stars.

The Stars once again have good odds going into next season, and adding Petry would make the team even stronger. They could use an experienced veteran like him.

A Good Fit

Johnston mentioned that the Stars were even interested in Petry before he joined the Penguins. Now that Hughes has the option to make him a lot cheaper by retaining part of his salary, he could get a great return for him.

The Stars really need more depth on their blue line, especially now that John Klingberg is gone.

Petry could provide that depth while being cost-friendly.
