In an interview with JiC on TVA Sports, former Montreal Canadiens goaltender Patrick Roy gave his opinion on the recent success of current goaltender Samuel Montembeault.

I thought that Montembeault was often beaten on direct shots, and that was the little side that I found a little annoying, but I must admit that for quite some time now, direct shots are practically not going in anymore, he controls his rebounds well, so François [Allaire] was right on that side, he's a young guy who is progressing. Sometimes some develop later than others. But he's earning himself a place in the National League and hats off to him."
