The Minnesota Wild have exceeded all expectations this season, especially considering the buyouts of Ryan Suter and Zach Parise. They have now hit a huge obstacle.
Wild Lose Eriksson Ek
On paper, the Minnesota Wild don't have much of a superstar roster, especially with Kirill Kaprizov injured
However, Joel Eriksson Ek is a massive proponent to the teams' success, and his two-way game has made the Wild a competitive team.
Unfortunately, he has now been listed week-to-week with injury, putting a massive damper on what could have been a big season for the Wild.
Joel Eriksson Ek is week to week with a lower body injury. Absolutely devastating to a team with little center depth. Oskar Sundqvist (lower body) is day to day.
Again, sounds like Kirill Kaprizov is on verge of return. Wild will need a forward from Iowa
Unless a player like Marco Rossi from Iowa can step up and fill the role, the Wild may be out of luck.
This could very well be the end of the Wild's cup hopes before the playoffs even start.
