Matthew Tkachuk found himself the beneficiary of some insider knowledge about the Maple Leafs courtesy of his brother, possibly a huge advantage heading into Round 2.

With the Florida Panthers ready to take on the Toronto Maple Leafs after dispatching of the Tampa Bay Lightning in the first round, it seems that the blue and white head from one Tkachuk brother to another, with Matthew staring them in the face right after brother Brady took them to six games.
Tkachuk is already underestimating the Maple Leafs, and while he may exude a lot of confidence, he might end up eating those words later. Speaking on the Pat McAfee Show, besides talking about how the series might end up, he mentioned that his brother Brady may have helped him out.
Tkachuk revealed that his brother relayed some vital information regarding Toronto's lineup and how they can make life miserable going forward:
I'll give Brady a call and ask him what he saw throughout the series, little things.

I'll ask a lot about individuals, like, what you can exploit with some guys, what guys maybe get a little too riled up, guys you can get off their game, what guys are looking like they're playing through stuff or look a little injured.

It's all the little stuff I'll ask him. It's playoffs. Every advantage you can get, and it's nice having my brother that just played them, so he'll give me the honest truth.

It seems that perhaps the confidence Tkachuk had is only boosted by some insider info, and the fact that he had to rely on his brother to gain an upper hand shows that maybe he isn't as prepared for the new look Maple Leafs as first thought.

Matthew Tkachuk Needs A Bit Of Help To Get Past Toronto

Toronto is undoubtedly a bit banged up from the series against Ottawa, and while Florida might have the advantage there, it doesn't necessarily guarantee success. We've seen the Maple Leafs fight through a ton of injuries in the regular season and find victories, and there's nothing to say they can't in the postseason.
There's going to be a lot of potential aggravation not only from Tkachuk but from guys like Sam Bennett, Aaron Ekblad and most definitely Brad Marchand. Toronto can't let their emotions run rampant, and if they become undisciplined, it will be their downfall.
But the team is still worlds different than they were in 2023, and if Tkachuk needs to get some extra help from his brother, then Florida may have to ask themselves if that's going to be enough to get past a hungry and motivated Maple Leafs squad.
