The Panthers played a more aggressive game and ultimately, it gave them the edge they needed to beat the hungry Leafs.

However, Sam Bennett may have taken things too far.

Bennett Potentially Facing Suspension After Two Dirty Plays

The first questionable hit was on Matthew Knies, which forced him to leave the game.

This looks really dangerous, and no one can deny that it's a dirty play.

He didn't stop there.

Later, he gave multiple dangerous cross-checks on Michael Bunting :

Hitting a player that's on the ground isn't very sportsmanlike.

The Department of Player Safety should make a decision in the next few hours about Bennett.

But, as reported by Chris Johnston:

"As unhappy as the #leafs were with Sam Bennett's cross-checks on Bunting and the takedown on Knies, it seems unlikely he'll be suspended for either infraction.

We'll see where @NHLPlayerSafety lands after working through their process."
