During a breathtaking showdown in game one, plenty of things went right for Edmonton, but many more things went wrong as they not only blew a 4-1 lead, but they saw their second biggest star leave the game, not to return.
Now, a day later, Oilers Head Coach Kris Knoblauch has confirmed that it was cramps that took Draisaitl out of the game, revealing that he and Adam Henrique are both day-to-day moving forward.
On one hand this is good news, as it confirms there was no long-term damage or injury for Draisaitl, but it also means that the injury is likely to stick around, as No. 29 was not available at skate around on Thursday.
With the firepower that the Vancouver Canucks posses, the Oilers chances drastically dip if Draisaitl misses any time, but given that he couldn't return to the game, it would be very ambitious to expect him back on the ice on Saturday.
However, there appears to be optimism from Knoblauch that Draisaitl won't be out long-term, and even if they head back to Edmonton in an 0-2 hole, if Leon can return to the ice, this is a team confident that they can beat anyone in the NHL.
