Jamie Benn has been captain of the Dallas Stars for nearly a decade. He has thus become one of the more respected captains in the league. He reaffirmed his respect today with an impressive gesture.

Benn Pledges Support to Pride

While Texas isn't the most progressive place in the world, there is a vibrant diverse community in Dallas. Jamie Benn has come to appreciate this significantly, and in the Stars' pride night yesterday, he said a very meaningful quote.

Brian Burke of course is a massive proponent to the Hockey is For Everyone movement.
For all of the LGBTQ+ kids looking to be hockey players, Dallas is a safe space.
